iPhone and iPod touch can be useful when you are thinking about working out in a gym. There are many applications that are available in the App Store that could be really handy. The one particular I really find very useful is the GymGoal. This app could be a great substitute for a personal trainer. It has everything one need to get started on a workogymgoalut in gym – extensive animated exercise database, workout routines, tracking progress and measurements.

This app offers a lot of information one small package. Some of excellent features include:

  • Animations (installed on the device), illustrations, step by step instructions and performance tips.
  • 39 workout routines. You can add your own routines.
  • Comprehensive tracking system for strength and cardio workouts.
  • Body measurements tracking. Additional custom measurements – track anything you want.
  • One-rep Max, BMI, BMR, Body Fat Percentage calculators and progress tracking.
  • Progress tables and graphs are provided for everything from workout logs to measurements to calculators.
  • Ability to send workout logs to your email.
  • Ability to back up your data to gymgoal.com (free) to prevent any data loss.
  • Three independent timers that can be used anywhere in the application.
  • Workout scheduling.
